Information for Guests

Dress code

For the benefit of our members and guests, Carleton maintains a dress code for the golf course, clubhouse and practice areas that is in keeping with acceptable standards and the traditions of the game of golf.

On-course attire

Golfers are required to wear proper golf attire at all times.

Permitted attire

Men are required to wear golf shirts with collars (mock turtle necks and turtle necks are permitted). Shirts must be worn tucked in at all times. Shorts may be worn (but not gym-type or running shorts). Cargo pants with a neat and clean appearance are permitted.

Women may wear slacks, shorts, skorts, capris and dresses. Mock style, V-neck and sleeveless shirts are acceptable. Tops may be worn un-tucked. Cropped or low-cut tops are not permitted.

Hats or visors must be worn facing forward. (Please note that hats are not permitted in the inside dining areas of the clubhouse.) Socks when worn with shorts must be either knee- or ankle-length, or sockettes (no banded sports or dress socks).

Not permitted

Denim or jeans of any kind or colour, cut-offs, short shorts, tennis shorts, running shorts or sweatpants or other workout attire, tank tops, halter tops, mesh shirts, spandex or fleece fabrics and graphic T-shirts are not permitted. (Dress [smart casual] jeans are permitted in the clubhouse.)

Any other attire determined by the Club to be inappropriate is not permitted.

Caddies may not wear golf shoes of any type (no metal spikes, soft spikes or spikeless golf shoes).

Carleton is a soft spike–only golf course.
